Since 1999, SmackDown has been electrifying WWE audiences around the globe.

What originated as a two-hour Thursday night program titled after one of The Rock’s many catchphrases has evolved into a weekly three-hour Friday night event that showcases some of WWE’s top talent, from Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes to Tiffany Stratton and Bianca Belair. SmackDown is also home to exclusive championship belts, including the WWE Tag Team titles, the United States title, the Women’s Championship, the Universal WWE Championship, and the Undisputed WWE Championship.

In 2002, WWE split the Raw and SmackDown brands into two separate rosters, establishing a rivalry between the two shows with events like a superstar draft to shake things up and Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown Survivor Series matches. The competing brand dynamic has resulted in countless unforgettable moments, like John Cena and Randy Orton working together on Team SmackDown after years of being rivals or the iconic shot of Becky Lynch with a busted nose after SmackDown’s roster invaded Raw.

Twenty-plus years in and with more than 1,300 episodes under its belt, SmackDown has presented fans with some of WWE’s most captivating stories, like Eddie Guerrero’s journey to the top of the brand in 2004 after winning the WWE Championship or the more recent stretch of remarkable dominance and cinematic drama from the Bloodline, which includes the Usos winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, Sami Zayn being inducted as an honorary member, and Roman Reigns’ captivating 1,316-day rule as WWE Champion.

The Bloodline story is still being told on SmackDown every Friday, with a new iteration of the group that features Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tanga Loa. While Netflix has been the home of WWE Raw since Jan. 6, SmackDown is available only in select countries outside the US.
