If you’re in the market for a tight hug, a cozy beverage or a new fictional couple obsession, allow the Heartstopper teaser to change the entire trajectory of your day in under a minute. It’s just a sneak peek at what’s to come in the eight-part series, but the video is chock-full of bedroom dancing, awkward flirting, rugby shenanigans and a whole lot of yearning.

Heartstopper tells the love story of sensitive athlete Nick (Kit Connor) and introspective overthinker Charlie (Joe Locke), an unlikely duo who meet in class and slowly form an unexpectedly close friendship. As he gets to know Nick better, Charlie starts to develop feelings — although, as more than one person points out to Charlie in the teaser, they might be unrequited. But a few sweet shots of Nick nervously reaching for Charlie’s hand and showing up on his doorstep in the middle of a rainstorm tell a different story.

The series is based on Alice Oseman’s beloved, ongoing webcomic of the same name, which has attracted legions of loyal readers since it was first published in 2016. Six years and four physical volumes later, we’ll finally get to see Nick and Charlie fall for each other on screen — and we’ll also get to see the rest of their crew, including Charlie’s sister Tori (Jenny Walser) and friends Tao (William Gao), Elle (Yasmin Finney), Tara (Corinna Brown), and Darcy (Kizzy Edgell).

Watch the gentle teaser trailer below, and get ready to fall head over heels when the show premieres April 22.
