Chrissy (Grace Van Dien)

Chrissy (Grace Van Dien) - Meet the New Characters Facing the Upside Down in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4

The character: Chrissy was just a popular cheerleader dating the captain of the basketball team before Vecna targeted her as his first victim. She thought she could evade the pain by seeking out some herbal refreshment from Eddie Munson, but Vecna thought her time was up.

The actor: Before attending Hawkins High as Chrissy, Grace Van Dien enrolled in Greenhouse Academy as Brooke Osmond. She’s also known for starring as Katie Campbell in The Village and Sharon Tate in Charlie Says. Van Dien also appears in The Rookie, Lady Driver, White Famous, Immoral Compass, Riding Faith,The Bad Twin, Awaken the Shadowman, The Last Bid and Army Dog. Up next, she’s set to star in V for Vengeance, The Fix and Aaah! Roach!

Dmitri “Enzo” (Tom Wlaschiha)

Dmitri “Enzo” (Tom Wlaschiha) - Meet the New Characters Facing the Upside Down in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4

The character: Dmitri is not your ordinary Russian prison officer, especially after sending a note on behalf of Hopper (David Harbour) to Joyce (Winona Ryder) and signing it none other than “Enzo” — you know, the restaurant where Hopper and Joyce were supposed to go on a date after the Battle of Starcourt Mall in Season 3. Sure, some may call Dmitri corrupt, but when he sides with Hopper and tries to help him break free from Kamchatka? We’re all for it. And chances are his son Mikhail will be, too.

The actor: Dmitri might have wished that he was a “faceless man” when he was caught aiding Hopper. Before joining the cast of Stranger Things, Tom Wlaschiha notably played Arya Stark’s mentor, Jaqen H’ghar, on Game of Thrones, helping her become “no one” and reminding her that “all men must die.” Or should we say, “Valar morghulis”? Wlaschiha may play a Russian guard this season, but he was actually born in East Germany and speaks multiple languages, including German, English, French, Italian and, of course, Russian. An international actor working around the globe, Wlaschiha most recently appeared in Rose Island, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Das Boot, Crossing Lines, Thanks for the Memories, Saturday Fiction and In Love and War.

Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn)

Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) - Meet the New Characters Facing the Upside Down in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4

The character: Nothing comes between Eddie Munson and his Cult of Vecna campaign. Metalhead rocker Eddie takes Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and occasionally Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) under his leather-clad wing as the president of Hawkins High’s Hellfire Club. But he didn’t necessarily imagine he’d be playing out his Dungeons & Dragons game... in real life.

The actor: British actor Joe Quinn is a period drama regular — though usually the more traditional sort of costume drama. Starring as Arthur Havisham in Dickensian and Tsarevich Pavel in Catherine the Great, Quinn also played Leonard Bast in Starz’ 2017 adaptation of Howards End and channeled Enjolras’ rebellious spirit in the 2018 version of Les Misérables for BBC One. You may also remember him as a guard in Game of Thrones who decidedly did not recognize Arya Stark upon her return home to Winterfell. More recently, Quinn appeared in the film Make Up as Tom, the short Kin as Jamie, the crime series Strike as Billy Knight and Small Axe as PC Dixon.

Argyle (Eduardo Franco)

Argyle (Eduardo Franco) - Meet the New Characters Facing the Upside Down in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4

The character: Argyle is the newfound compadre of the Byers family out in California. Licensed to drive — since Jonathan’s (Charlie Heaton) car is out of commission anyway — he takes it upon himself to drive the Byers crew to school every day in his trusty Surfer Boy Pizza van. That is, in between shifts of delivering pizza in 30 minutes or less and partaking in some joyous palm tree delight.

The actor: Eduardo Franco and his long locks are unmistakable, especially after his comedic turn as Theo in Booksmart. You may also recognize him from his portrayals of Spencer Diaz in American Vandal, Andrew in The Binge, Jeremy in The Package, Gavis in Adam Ruins Everything, Stu in Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything and DJ Catnip in Gabby’s Dollhouse. He also appeared in We Broke Up, Queenpins, Superintelligence, Lady Dynamite and You’re the Worst.

Henry Creel/Vecna/One (Jamie Campbell Bower)

Henry Creel/Vecna/One (Jamie Campbell Bower) - Meet the New Characters Facing the Upside Down in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4

The character: It’s finally time to meet Vecna — and it’s not just an evil lord from Dungeons & Dragons. Oh no, Vecna is alive, real and taunting the hapless citizens of Hawkins from his mind lair. But plot twist from Episode 7: Vecna is only this character’s most recent alias, since Eleven plunged it into the Upside Down. It was born Henry Creel, but possessed powers that made Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine) want to study him and brand him with the tattoo that would change his life forever: One.

The actor: Has Jamie Campbell Bower been frozen in time in the Upside Down all this time, just like Vecna? Because it seems like Bower has been around the supernatural franchise realm for ages. You may recognize him from his memorable turns as Anthony in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, as the Volturi vampire Caius from The Twilight Saga films New Moon, Breaking Dawn: Part 1 and Breaking Dawn: Part 2, as Jace in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and as Young Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. He has also been featured in The Prisoner, Camelot, Will and Thomas & Friends. Bower is also musically inclined, although Vecna might have some qualms about it. He released his latest single, “Run On,” in 2022, but make sure to check out his other songs like “Paralysed” and “Start the Fire.” And never forget: He also starred in Florence + The Machine’s music video for “Never Let Me Go.”
