The course of true love never did run smooth. But it rarely includes two instances of pedestrian car collisions. That is, unless you’re Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet), one of Never Have I Ever’s most complicated on-again, off-again couples. The couple formerly known as #Daxton has been through a lot over three seasons — so much so, you might not remember every twist and turn in their high school romance. Thankfully, we’ve got the full report in the video above — and it’s worthy of an A+ (Devi wouldn’t have it any other way).

As the video reminds us, Devi’s relationship with Paxton started long before Sherman Oaks High’s golden boy even knew her name. Devi’s dad Mohan (Sendhil Ramamurthy) died during her freshman year. Stricken with grief, Devi’s legs stopped working and she had to start using a wheelchair. Then one fateful day three months after her paralysis started, Devi couldn’t see what shenanigans Paxton was up to at the grocery store — and she stood up to get a better view. As narrator John McEnroe says, Paxton’s hotness literally worked a “miracle” for Devi.

With a beginning that illustrious, Devi and Paxton’s relationship was destined for oddball greatness. Over three seasons, they have flirted, fallen for each other, fought and, ultimately, gained a heck of a lot of respect for each other. While Devi may end Season 3 in the bedroom of her other crush, Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison), Daxton is simply too epic to end. Even co-creator and showrunner Lang Fisher says this love story “is not over.” Watch the video for all the proof.
