There’s a lot happening in the first 11 minutes of Virgin River Season 5, but that just means we’re getting answers to some of Season 4’s biggest cliff-hangers

If you watch the sneak peek above, you’ll experience the following revelations: Vince is alive! Paige and Preacher aren’t under arrest! Jack is definitely not mad at Charmaine for lying that he was the father of her twins! Brie’s pressing charges against her abusive former co-worker! And Denny might not have messed everything up with Lizzie after all!

But be careful what you wish for: “We answer the questions and then we add a bunch more,” writer and producer Erin Cardillo told Tudum on the Virgin River set in 2022. As fellow writer and producer Richard Keith joked then, “That’s the golden rule of TV!”

A young girl in a brown dress with a hat on her back stands inside a rustic wooden structure made of logs, looking thoughtfully towards the distance in a rural outdoor setting.

Season 5 begins immediately after the last scene of the Season 4 finale, which featured chef Preacher (Colin Lawrence) and his former love, Paige (Lexa Doig), as they faced off against her evil ex’s also-evil twin brother, Vince (Steve Bacic). While it seemed they might have accidentally killed Vince in self defense, he’s fine — and cop Mike (Marco Grazzini) shows up just in time to take Vince into custody while ignoring Vince’s claim that Paige and Preacher killed his brother. (Something tells us that might come back to haunt them later.)

The other jaw-dropping revelation from Season 4 involved beloved bar owner Jack (Martin Henderson) learning that he’s not the father of his ex Charmaine’s (Lauren Hammersley) babies. When we see him the morning after her confession, he’s angrily chopping wood — which, as his fiancée Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) reminds him, he only does when he’s mad. But, again, he’s totally not mad about Charmaine. Nope, not at all. (Sure.)

The rest of the episode’s opening shows lovers Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) and Brie (Zibby Allen) sharing a sweet morning moment; Denny (Kai Bradbury), his grandfather, Doc (Tim Matheson), and step-grandmother of sorts, Hope (Annette O’Toole), making breakfast; and one very shady dude stopped at the side of the road.

As star Henderson told Tudum on set in 2022, Season 5 will “thrill and shock and leave people in suspense. They’re going to be mad, because we answer lots of questions but then we open up a whole bunch more.”

Find out what those questions will be by watching the first 11 minutes of Virgin River Season 5, which debuts Sept. 7, followed by two holiday-themed episodes on Nov. 30.
